ESI attended Malta’s first Big Data Summit which was held on June 22nd at Xara Lodge in Rabat. This was the first event of its kind that addressed key major developments where Big Data is having an impact. Disciplines like artificial intelligence, smart transportation, financial services, journalism, online gaming, marketing as well as the Internet of Things (IOT) where amongst the topics discussed.
 
The organisers of this summit have invited thought leaders for different businesses, policy makers, academics and technology to discuss the future of the global economy and how Big Data is transforming today’s business world. The experts shared their insights and visions related to Big Data, the current trends and the future expectations.
 
The Big Data experts presenting at the Summit cited many examples of how data could be managed effectively. They provided practical examples how businesses use Big Data in ways to provide them with what they need to focus on, thus helping them improving the way they manage their operations, producing their products and providing better services.
